The telephone has its own special vocabulary – here are some useful phrases to know when making or receiving phone calls in Spanish.

¿Quién llama?
  Who is calling?
Soy ___.   I'm / It's ___.

una llamada   phone call
una llamada a cobro revertido   collect / reversed charge call
un número de teléfono   phone number
una guía telefónica   phone book
un tono de marcar   dial tone
una cabina de teléfono   phone booth
un contestador automático   answering machine
