The Spanish letter O is pronounced more or less like "oh":

cómo   how
ocho   eight
abogado   lawyer
cebolla   onion
almuerzo   lunch

Type of vowel

Hard vs soft   O is a hard vowel
Strong vs weak   O is a strong vowel
