On the fifth of May, Mexico won
after one of the battles with the invading army.
Contra los franceses, lucharon con valor
y los mexicanos no tuvieron temor.
Against the French, they fought valiently
and the Mexicans were not afraid.
En el estado de Puebla, México ganó
el cinco de mayo de 1862.
In the state of Puebla, Mexico won
on the fifth of May 1862.
Ignacio Zaragoza fue quien enseño
a indios zacapoaxtlas a luchar por México.
Ignacio Zaragoza was the one who taught
the Zacapoaxtlas Indians to fight for Mexico.
Fueron comandados por Miguel Negrete.
Con palos y piedras lucharon muy valientes
They were led by Miguel Negrete.
With stick and stones they fought very valiently.
