Other irregular verbs
hacer (to do, make)
The stem is hic– and it takes the above endings. But in the 3rd person singular, what would be "hico" becomes hizo, changing c to z to maintain the same pronunciation as in the other conjugations.
hice |
hiciste |
hizo |
hicimos |
hicisteis |
hicieron |
decir (to say) | traer (to bring)
The stems are dij– and traj– and they take the endings as above except in the 3rd person plural, which loses the "i":
dije | traje | |
dijiste | trajiste | |
dijo | trajo | |
dijimos | trajimos | |
dijisteis | trajisteis | |
dijeron | trajeron |
Verbs that end in –ducir follow the above pattern with the stem *duj-. For eample, producir (to produce):
produje |
produjiste |
produjo |
produjimos |
produjisteis |
produjeron |
dar (to give) | ver (to see)
Dar and ver have irregular conjugations:
di | vi | |
diste | viste | |
dio | vio | |
dimos | vimos | |
disteis | visteis | |
dieron | vieron |
ir (to go) | ser (to be)
These two very irregular verbs are identical in the pretérito:
fui |
fuiste |
fue |
fuimos |
fuisteis |
fueron |
