Oír means "to hear" and is used just like its English counterpart:
Por ejemplo…
¿Puedes oír eso? | Can you hear that? | |
Le oigo abrir la puerta. | I hear him opening the door. | |
No oye lo que no quiere oír. | He doesn’t hear what he doesn’t want to hear. | |
¿Me oís? | Do you hear me? |
