Ir – to go – is one of the most common irregular Spanish verbs. It’s used just like its English equivalent.

Ir + a is used to talk about things that are going to happen – el futuro próximo:

Voy a estudiar mañana.I’m going to study tomorrow.
Van a comer a las ocho.They’re going to eat at 8 o’clock.
